Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel Rye

Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel Rye Whiskey is a rye whiskey produced by Jack Daniel’s. It was the third offering in the distillery’s Single Barrel Collection, following Single Barrel Select and Single Barrel Barrel Proof. The whiskey is bottled at 94 proof.

Introduced in February 20161Press Release, Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel Rye represented the first fully-mature release from the distillery’s first new grain recipe in over 100 years. Limited-release batches of Rested Rye (aged two years and bottled at 80 proof) were released in 2014 and Unaged Rye (80 proof) in 2012.

The grain bill for Jack Daniel’s Rye Whiskey consists of 70% rye, 18% corn, and 12% malted barley. Before aging in new American white oak barrels, the whiskey undergoes the process of charcoal mellowing. Only barrels selected from the highest reaches of the barrelhouses, producing whiskey with deeper colors and flavors, are chosen for the Single Barrel Collection.
