Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel Barrel Proof Rye Whiskey is a rye whiskey produced by Jack Daniel’s.
Introduced as a permanent line extension in May 20231Press Release, Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel Barrel Proof Rye Whiskey is the newest addition to the distillery’s Single Barrel Collection. The whiskey is bottled straight from the barrel at between 125 and 145 proof.
The grain bill for Jack Daniel’s Rye Whiskey consists of 70% rye, 18% corn, and 12% malted barley. Before aging in new American white oak barrels, the whiskey undergoes the process of charcoal mellowing. Only barrels selected from the highest reaches of the barrelhouses, producing whiskey with deeper colors and flavors, are chosen for the Single Barrel Collection.
This release follows a limited-edition nationwide release of a barrel proof rye in 2020 and a distillery-exclusive Tennessee Tasters release in June 2019.
Private Selection
Much like Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel Barrel Proof Tennessee Whiskey, the rye release is also available as a private selection. Single barrel picks have a chained medallion hung around the bottle’s neck.
