Blanton’s Straight from the Barrel is a limited release from Buffalo Trace Distillery. It is one of three Blanton’s expressions available in the United States. It is distilled from Buffalo Trace’s Mashbill #2, which has a higher rye content than the distillery’s standard ryed bourbon mashbill.
Released annually in the United States each fall, it had previously been a popular international release. In 2020, Buffalo Trace announced that both Straight from the Barrel and Blanton’s Gold Edition would be receiving annual United States releases for the first time. The U.S. edition is packaged in a box and a leather bag.
As the name implies, it is bottled uncut and unfiltered, typically ranging in strength from 125-135 proof.
