Walnut Hill Whiskey

Walnut Hill is a bourbon produced by Buffalo Trace Distillery as a part of its annual Prohibition Collection.

Bottled at 90 proof, it uses Buffalo Trace’s higher-rye Mashbill #2, shared by Rock Hill Farms, Blanton’s, and Elmer T. Lee.

Historically, Walnut Hill was a rye whiskey brand sold by The American Liquor Company. However, according to Buffalo Trace, George T. Stagg Distillery President Albert Blanton oversaw the production and bottling of Walnut Hill before being bottled and labeled for sale for the Boston, MA-based company.

Announced in September 2023, the Prohibition Collection is a five-bottle set released annually by Buffalo Trace. During Prohibition, the distillery was known as the George T. Stagg Distillery, and it was one of six distilleries that was licensed by the U.S. government to produce medicinal whiskey. The expressions in the set honor some of the brands that were produced between 1920 and 1933.
