Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel Special Release Coy Hill High Proof
Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel Special Release Coy Hill High Proof is a Tennessee whiskey produced by Jack Daniel’s in 2021 for their annual Special Release.
At the time of release, this was the highest-proof whiskey ever released by the Lynchburg, TN distillery. The single barrel release is bottled uncut, and proof varies between barrels from 137.4 to 148.3 proof.
Coy Hill High Proof is Jack Daniel’s classic mashbill aged in the oldest warehouses on Coy Hill, the highest point on the distillery property. The barrels were located on the highest floors of warehouses #8 and #13, highlighting the impact of the hot, dry air on those floors to the fully-mature whiskey.
According to the distillery, the whiskey has “an aroma of seared oak and dark brown sugar with flavors of bold baking spices and a lingering finish of toffee, smoke and rich leather.”
In 2022, Jack Daniel’s released a small batch version of Coy Hill High Proof, which was released in 375ml bottles. Five batches were released, bottled at 143.6, 147.3, 149.8, 153.2, and 155.1 proof.
