Elijah Craig Toasted Barrel is a double-oaked bourbon produced by Heaven Hill Distillery as part of their Elijah Craig brand family.
Elijah Craig Toasted Barrel begins with fully matured Elijah Craig Small Batch, which is dumped and then re-entered at barrel proof into a second, new oak barrel. Finishing time and char levels are undisclosed, but the custom barrels are made by Independent Stave Company from 18-month air dried oak. After air drying, the second barrel is first toasted and then flash-charred using a moderate toast temperature and toast time.
This release is bottled at Elijah Craig Small Batch Bourbon and Elijah Craig Straight Rye Whiskey’s traditional 94 proof.
In 2024, Heaven Hill will be releasing a new double-barreled expression, Elijah Craig Toasted Rye.

Big, rich, and complex. Delightful spice and pepper notes fade to milk chocolate with just a hint of smoke
