Wild Turkey Rare Breed Rye is a barrel proof rye whiskey from Wild Turkey. It is a blend of 4-, 6-, and 8-year old rye.
Announced in June 2020, it joined the 86-proof Wild Turkey Rye and Wild Turkey 101 Rye in the company’s rye whiskey lineup.
Eddie Russell’s son Bruce, who also works at Wild Turkey, was part of the inspiration behind the development of Rare Breed Rye. “As a rye aficionado himself, my son Bruce Russell was the catalyst for reminding me of the distillery’s relationship with rye whiskey and the value it plays within our portfolio. It’s with him and other rye fans in mind that we introduce Rare Breed Rye,” Eddie said.
