- Rittenhouse Rye is one of the only widely-available bottled-in-bond rye whiskeys available regularly.
- Heaven Hill introduced Rittenhouse Rye in the 1990s, but the brand has a much longer history.
- Before bourbon became America's spirit, rye was the most popular form of whiskey in the US, made in two styles: Maryland rye (some corn in the mash bill) and Pennsylvania rye (high rye, no corn).
- Rittenhouse Square Rye was introduced in 1934 by The Continental Distilling Corporation, named after Philadelphia's Rittenhouse Square.
