Old Carter Kentucky Whiskey

Old Carter Straight Kentucky Whiskey is a small batch whiskey introduced by Old Carter in 2020. Two additional batches were released in 2020.

The first release was an 8-barrel blend of bourbons aged a minimum of 7 years, resulting in 1,854 bottles and bottled at 117.5 proof. This batch has a bourbon mashbill but was aged in used barrels, preventing a bourbon designation but providing a smooth and mellow profile.

Batch 2 and 3 were both 7-barrel blends each, aged a minimum of 7 years.

This Whiskey has a bourbon bill, but went into used barrels offering a soft, supple profile upon which to play. And play we did! She offers on the nose iced orange pound cake, purple clover flowers, cornbread and sorghum butter. The palate is round yet spicy, warm poached stone fruit and layers of a cream soda and cinnamon ice cream float.[…] Finish is long, warm and invites another sip.
