Michter’s US 1 Unblended American Whiskey is a small batch whiskey produced by Michter’s as part of their core lineup.
Reintroduced in 2013, Unblended American Whiskey is unique for several reasons. Labeled as an American whiskey, as opposed to a bourbon or rye, means that it doesn’t have to abide by the strict rules governing those designations. In this case, this whiskey is aged in used barrels that previously held bourbon. The “unblended” designation on the label means that other neutral grain spirits were not used in the production of this whiskey.
Little else is known about the whiskey: its mashbill has never been revealed, where it was distilled, nor any other details about its production.
