Michter’s Toasted Barrel Finish Bourbon is a limited release from Michter’s.
The release takes fully mature Michter’s bourbon, and finishes it in a second, custom toasted barrel that is assembled from oak that has air-dried for 18 months. It is bottled at the same 91.4 proof as their standard bourbon release.
Michter’s whiskey goes into the barrel at 103 proof, which is a uniquely low proof point relative to the rest of the industry. The bourbon is then bottled at 91.4 proof after maturation and finishing.
It is one of three toasted barrel-finished whiskeys available from Michter’s, joining their Toasted Barrel Finish Rye and Toasted Barrel Finish Sour Mash.
