Lux Row 12 Year Double Barrel Bourbon

Lux Row 12 Year Double Barrel Bourbon is a bourbon produced by Lux Row and is a distillery-exclusive release.

This bourbon was originally released in 2019 to commemorate the opening of Lux Row’s new distillery and was limited to 6,000 bottles. As of 2023, it is still regularly available at the distillery on a rotating basis.

Rather than referring to barrel finishing, the “double barrel” in this expression’s name refers to its unique two-barrel blend. Whereas a single barrel expression is bottled from just one barrel of whiskey, in this case, a double barrel is bottled from two barrels, making it an extremely small batch.

The front label provides information about both barrels used in the batch, both of which are aged more than 12 years. They are sourced from an undisclosed distillery and use an undisclosed ryed mashbill – likely the recipe shared with Ezra Brooks (78% corn, 10% rye, and 12% malted barley).

The bourbon is bottled at a cask-strength 118.4 proof, which is a tribute to the distillery’s opening date – April 2018. It is packaged in a premium embossed bottle with a knurled, copper stopper.
