Knob Creek Rye is a 100-proof rye whiskey produced by James B. Beam Distilling Co. as part of its Knob Creek brand family. It was introduced for the first time in 2012.
The mashbill is undisclosed, but it is believed to be a barely-legal rye, using somewhere near the minimum requirement of 51% rye grain.
A single barrel rye is also available as a private selection and is bottled at 115 proof.
In 2023, Beam added an age statement to this release for the first time. The seven-year age statement joins Knob Creek’s 9-year, 12-year, 15-year, and 18-year old bourbons.
