Frank August Case Study

The Frank August Case Study series is a bourbon produced by Frank August and is a limited release expression designed to showcase experimental expressions from the brand. The base bourbon is sourced from an undisclosed distillery and bottled by Bardstown Bourbon Company.

The Case Study series is named after the Case Study Houses, an experimental series of residential architecture projects by major architects of the 1940s-1960s.1Wikipedia It was released alongside Frank August Single Barrel, a cask strength expression from the brand.

The whiskey is packaged in a custom-designed, minimalist bottle, even going so far as to use a removable back label that leaves no adhesive residue when removed.

Batches

As of 2023, two batches have been released: the first, released in 2022, was finished in Mizunara oak, while 2023’s edition is a PX-finished expression.
