E. H. Taylor, Jr. Straight Rye

This is the only whiskey currently using Buffalo Trace’s high rye mashbill. This recipe differs from Buffalo Trace’s standard rye mash bill in that it includes no corn – just rye and malted barley. Additionally, it’s distilled at another of Sazerac’s distilleries, Barton 1792, before being bottled and aged at Buffalo Trace.

Buffalo Trace’s standard rye mashbill is used for their other rye release, including Sazerac Rye, Sazerac Rye 18 year, Thomas H. Handy, and Van Winkle Family Reserve Rye.

Col. E. H. Taylor, Jr. bourbons are named for one of the founding fathers of the bourbon industry, who fought for the Bottled-in-Bond Act of 1897.
