Pre-Release

* Note: This article uses information from the U.S. Department of the Treasury Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB). Whiskey labels are approved by the TTB weeks or months ahead of their release and public announcement, so details about pricing and availability aren’t available yet. Furthermore, any proof statements on the label may be placeholders and might change before the official release announcement. However, everything else on the label will appear as it does here, so this gives us a great early look at an upcoming release.

Barrell Bourbon Amburana Cask Finish is an upcoming release from Barrell Craft Spirits.

It is a blend of two different bourbon mashbills sourced from Indiana and Kentucky and aged in barrels with varying char levels. Part of the blend was vatted before it was finished in Amburana casks, allowing the Barrell team to better control and balance the “strong cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, and vanilla spice notes” from the finishing barrels, according to the label.

It is expected be bottled at a cask-strength 116.42 proof, without chill filtration.
