Bardstown Bourbon Company Origin Series Wheated Bottled-In-Bond Bourbon is a bourbon produced by Bardstown Bourbon Company. It is part of the distillery’s core lineup, and is aged for 6 years before being bottled at 100 proof.
It is made from locally-sourced grains, and the wheat component in the recipe is relatively high compared to other wheated bourbons at 20%.
Bottled-in-Bond bourbons are produced under strict regulations, including being distilled in a single distilling season at one distillery, aged in a federally bonded warehouse for at least four years, and bottled at 100 proof (50% alcohol by volume).
The whiskeys in the Origin Series were all distilled and aged at the company’s Bardstown, KY campus. “The Origin Series is the first opportunity to taste an expression that is 100 percent our whiskey,” said Dan Callaway, VP of Product Development for Bardstown Bourbon Company.
The Origin Series was announced following the discontinuation of the Fusion Series, which used Bardstown-distilled whiskey as a component of blends that also included sourced whiskey.
