Crafted by Head Distiller and Master Blender John Rempe, bourbons in the Blood Oath series are a blend of three different selected bourbons to create a distinct flavor profile. Each annual release is referred to as a numbered “Pact,” and each is proofed to exactly 98.6 proof.
Additionally, one of the three bourbons in the blend uses a unique barrel finish, and the finish varies from Pact to Pact:
- Blood Oath Pact No. 1 (2015): no barrel finish
- Blood Oath Pact No. 2 (2016): finished in port barrels
- Blood Oath Pact No. 3 (2017): finished in California Cabernet Sauvignon barrels
- Blood Oath Pact No. 4 (2018): finished in toasted oak barrels
- Blood Oath Pact No. 5 (2019): finished in Caribbean rum barrels
- Blood Oath Pact No. 6 (2020): finished in Cognac casks
- Blood Oath Pact No. 7 (2021): finished in sauternes wine casks from the Bordeaux region of France
- Blood Oath Pact No. 8 (2022): finished in Calvados casks from the Normandy region of France
- Blood Oath Pact No. 9 (2023): finished in Spanish Oloroso Sherry casks
