New Riff is an independent distillery located in Newport, KY, just across the Ohio River from Cincinnati. Founded in 2014 by Ken Lewis, a Kentucky liquor retailer, New Riff’s mission is to bring a unique approach to the tradition of Kentucky bourbon. Their distillery produces bourbon, rye, and Kentucky Wild Gin.
New Riff takes pride in using traditional sour mash methods for their bourbon and rye, and they are bottled-in-bond without chill filtration. The distillery sources its water from a deep private well, providing water with a high mineral content.
Transparency is important to New Riff, and all of their products feature an age statement, and each mashbill is publicly shared.
New Riff’s Head Distiller Brian Sprance has 15 years of professional brewing experience, and often innovates new beer-inspired mashbills using grains that are not typically used by distilleries.
