Remus Gatsby Reserve is a premium bourbon whiskey produced by Ross & Squibb Distillery. It was first released in October 2022 to celebrate F. Scott Fitzgerald’s novel, “The Great Gatsby,” which took place in 1922 and was released in 1925.
It is bottled at a cask-strength 97.8 proof, and aged for at least 15 years. It shares a bottle shape with 2019’s Remus Volstead Reserve, which carried a 14 year age statement1MGP Announces Remus Volstead Reserve, Bottled-in-Bond Bourbon to Mark the 100th Anniversary of Prohibition and features an art-deco inspired design meant to recall the roaring 20s.
According to Ross & Squibb, the bourbon offers aromas of dried candied fruit, caramelized pecans, charred oak, and tobacco. Its taste profile features flavors of candied fruit, syrup, leather, and cherry, with a finish that lingers with notes of cinnamon, char, and oak.
In March 2023, a label was approved for a second release.2TTB It was announced in September 2023 and features the same 15-year age statement and a slightly higher proof than the inaugural edition.
