Remus Repeal Reserve is a premium bourbon whiskey produced by Ross & Squibb Distillery and released annually since 2017. The brand takes its name from George Remus, a prominent figure during the Prohibition era in the United States. Remus was a bootlegger and criminal defense attorney known as the “King of the Bootleggers.”
Remus Repeal Reserve is part of a limited-edition series that pays tribute to the repeal of Prohibition in 1933. Editions I-IV were released starting on November 13, the birthdate of George Remus, and reached full distribution by Prohibition Repeal Day on December 5.
The whiskey is a blend of high-rye mashbills, which contributes to its bold and spicy character. The blend and ages of each component changes each year, showcasing Ross & Squibb and MGP’s substantial stock of well-aged bourbons.
