WhistlePig PiggyBack 100 Proof Bourbon is a corn-based bourbon produced by WhistlePig as part of their PiggyBack family. Released in 2022, it serves as a follow-up to 2019’s WhistlePig PiggyBack Rye.
Like the rye expression, it was developed with home and pro bartenders in mind, featuring a 6 year age statement and 100 proof strength that is intended to bring bold flavors when used in cocktails.
An early version of the TTB label stated that it would use a 100% dent corn mash bill and the same 96.56 proof strength as PiggyBack1TTB Approval, but those details shifted before release. WhistlePig now says that it has a “super-high corn mash bill, it maintains a dash of Rye as a nod to WhistlePig’s roots2Press Releae, and is bottled at 100 proof.
It was the second whiskey using a bourbon recipe released by WhistlePig, following their Farmstock Beyond Bonded Bourbon.

Reviews
Consider me shocked – this is easily the best bourbon I’ve had coming from WhistlePig, and while they do not do a great job of disclosing it’s not completely their distillate (a definite point they need to work on), it’s also miles ahead of anything they’ve released thus far.
