Three Feathers is a blended whiskey produced by Buffalo Trace Distillery as a part of its annual Prohibition Collection.
Three Feathers traces its history back as far as 1812, when it was a rye whiskey. It was later a bonded whiskey, and then a blended whiskey. This bottled-in-bond blend was created by Buffalo Trace Master Blender Drew Mayville to serve as a tribute to that history.
Announced in September 2023, the Prohibition Collection is a five-bottle set released annually by Buffalo Trace. During Prohibition, the distillery was known as the George T. Stagg Distillery, and it was one of six distilleries that was licensed by the U.S. government to produce medicinal whiskey. The expressions in the set honor some of the brands that were produced between 1920 and 1933.
