Michter’s US 1 Kentucky Straight Bourbon is a small batch bourbon produced by Michter’s.
Each batch is made up of no more than 20 barrels, and the batch number is indicated on the neck label. The “US-1” on the label represents Michter’s history as America’s first-established whiskey company.
Michter’s whiskey goes into the barrel at 103 proof, which is a uniquely low proof point relative to the rest of the industry. The bourbon is then bottled at 91.4 proof after maturation.
The company has also released several limited-release variations of their bourbon, including a barrel strength edition, one finished in a toasted barrel, as well as their 10 year old bourbon.
