Widow Jane's announces 2021 release of their maple syrup-finished Decadence Bourbon
Widow Jane Decadence is back, marking the third release of the Crown Maple Syrup barrel-finished bourbon.
First introduced as two 550-case releases in April and October of 2020, the distillery has announced plans for about 2,000 cases for this fall and winter.
Decadence comes from Widow Jane's signature 10-year-old bourbon, which is then blended in 5 barrel batches and finished in barrels that previously held Crown Maple's artisan maple syrup. Crown Maple is located in upstate New York, not far from the mines where the distillery sources the mineral water they use for proofing.
According to the distillery, "the maple syrup barrel finish delivers a rich, creamy-smooth and slightly sweet mouthful of whiskey that includes a faint maple note."
Decadence is bottled at 91 proof, the same as Widow Jane 10 Year Old. It'll be available throughout the fall and winter for approximately $90 per bottle.
