WhistlePig launches PiggyBack canned rye cocktails
While this canned cocktail says PiggyBack, it doesn't appear to be made with the 6-year-old rye whiskey associated with the brand. Instead, it seems to be made using a process similar to a beer, using 100% rye grains directly from WhistlePig's farm rather than malted barley. It's then paired with all-natural fresh fruit and then aged in (presumably used) WhistlePig rye whiskey barrels.
The rye cocktails will be available in three flavors:
- Blackberry Lemon Fizz
- Session Citrus Mint
- Fresh Ginger Lime
Each can comes in at 8% ABV, and 12oz. four-packs will be available for $18. This launches nationwide in 2022, but will be available this year in Georgia, Missouri, Vermont, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island.
